Partnerships
The Nacogdoches County Historical Foundation, the Nacogdoches Heritage Festival and the Heritage Heralds operate as three independent organizations. Each group has a separate governing executive board to oversee its committee functions.
Together, these organizations work for the common purpose of preserving Nacogdoches history.
Nacogdoches County Historical Foundation
Since the late 1970’s, the Nacogdoches County Historical Foundation, Inc. has strived to preserve the rich history and architecture of Nacogdoches County. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation that acquires and restores historic properties in Nacogdoches County.

Nacogdoches Heritage Festival
The Heritage Festival was organized in 1982 as the primary fundraising vehicle of the Foundation. The Festival has brought a diverse range of events To the Nacogdoches community over the years, from chili cook-offs and antique sales, to the Taste of Nacogdoches and the crowning of the Heritage Festival Queen. All proceeds from the Heritage Festival directly benefit the restoration projects of the Nacogdoches County Historical Foundation.

Heritage Heralds
The Heritage Heralds provide volunteers and organize specific activities to assist with the Festival. As a support group for the Festival, the Heritage Heralds have been an integral part of the Foundation since 1984, with many members serving on both Heritage Herald committees as well as Festival committees.
